School Holiday Club


Join us for a summer you’ll never forget!

Douglas Tree Forest School runs a school holiday club throughout every Wirral school holiday.

Our holiday club runs Monday to Friday during every Wirral school holiday.

Aimed at children age 4-11.

£30 per day per child.

£25 per sibling.

Our holiday club is open 9am until 4pm.

Early drop off at 8am can be booked for an additional charge of £5 per child.

Our holiday clubs provide children with a wonderful outdoor experience whilst they have a break from the classroom. Our day consists of snacks cooked over the fire, tool use, den building, nature crafts, hunts and exploring our huge 31 acre site. Our sessions allow children the freedom to self choose activities, follow their interests and take risks in a supportive and nurturing environment with a staff team dedicated to enhancing children’s confidence and self esteem. 

Snacks provided, but please bring a packed lunch.

What happens on the day?

8:00 – Early Drop Off & Set Up

Children booked in for early drop off arrive.

9:00 – Session Begins 

Register is taken and children are explained the site layout and natural boundaries.

9:15 – Free play & exploration

Children are given time to settle in to their surroundings and explore, supervised and supported by adults.

10:00 – Snack Time

Children are given the choice to be involved in snack preparation.

10:15 – Morning Activities

Adults will host a number of activities, such as den building, tool use, mini beast hunting and tree identification. We follow the child led forest school ethos and give children the choice to opt in or out of activities.

11:30 – Adult Led Exploration of Ste

Adults will host a number of different activities, such as a mindfulness walk, forage for items to cook, scavenger and treasure hunts following the children’s ideas/ interests. 

12:00 – Lunch

Children are given the option to prepare the site for eating packed lunches around the fire.

12:20 – Quiet Time

Whilst the adults prepare for the afternoon ahead, children are given the option to find a quiet spot, have a rest in a hammock, draw, read or work with their peers on some forest art. 

12:30 – Afternoon Activities

Adults will host more activities, using their knowledge of the children’s interests to create exciting experiences that the children can opt in or out of.

13:30 – Snack

Now that children have had the chance to familiarise themselves with the fire circle and fire safety, we will put their knowledge in to practice and do some cooking over the campfire.

14:15 – Final Play and Explore

Children are given a final opportunity to revisit what they have been working on and gather any items they may want to take home with them.

15:15 – Reflection & Leave No Trace

Our beautiful Woodland Trust site is home to many creatures, big and small. We aim to gently educate children to the beauty of the outdoors and how to look after it. Children will take part in a ‘Leave no trace’ clear up at the end of the day.

16:00 – Home Time

Children are collected by their parents/carers at the drop off point.
