Claire Douglas

Hi! My name is Claire and I’m the director of Douglas Tree Forest School. My background is in nursery management and I opened Douglas Tree to pursue my passion in outdoor learning. I live locally in Bebington, but spent my childhood growing up in Liverpool. My favourite part of what I do, is being able to observe the positive impact that our outdoor experiences have on children.

II have worked in Early Years childcare since 2004 and I have never looked back. I have worked as a Nursery Manager in a number of settings and I’m extremely interested in the lack of learning opportunities that children are provided with outdoors when the benefits are so great. I am trained in forest school and hold many qualifications, including a business management degree and the Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS).

Douglas Tree Forest School is a way for me to combine my passion for the outdoors with my experience and knowledge of early years. I look forward to meeting more of you as Douglas Tree grows.

Stay & Play Review

We went to a this with our nearly 4 year old today. From the moment we arrived and saw the little camp in the forest we were so excited. My little boy loved it, especially the mud kitchen and den building. A really inclusive friendly group, Claire and Paul are lovely. I’d definitely recommend. Beats dirty soft play hands down! Thank you for being different, we’ll be back.

I took my nearly 4 yr old and 2 yr old to douglas tree forest school and they absolutely loved it. Really lovely camp set up in the woods, lots of interesting things to look at and do. Mini beast hunting, mud painting, mud kitchens, climbing trees and getting wellies stuck in a bog! All finished off with roasting marshmallows. Will definitely be returning. Kids still talking about it, and I enjoyed it too.
